4 Ways to avoid surprises on eBay

1. Make Sure Shipping Costs are added.

On eBay, shipping costs can raise the original price of an item dramatically. So, you need to make sure to find out what the shipping cost is for the item you are bidding. For instance, you purchase an item for £1.99, but the shipping costs for the item are £12.99. So, that brings the price up much more than what you had in mind. Therefore you need to make sure that you know the value for postage and delivery.

2. Make sure postage fees are revealed.

Sometimes, you may get sellers, who don’t add the shipping costs from the start of the auction. This may happen, if they are new to eBay or they are up to something. Because, they may want to reveal the costs after the auction and add some more value to the item. So, you need to make sure, the costs are revealed before the auction is ended.
3. Don’t ever pay extra fees, if you don’t agree.

Don’t forget, if the seller reveals the shipping costs after the sale and if you don’t agree to it, you don’t have to pay for it. You can either try to agree for a reasonable amount or you can ask eBay to cancel the transaction.

4. You might end up with bad feedback.

Obviously, the seller will be annoyed, if you don’t agree to his/her terms. So, you might end up with bad feedback. If that happens, you can ask eBay to remove that bad feedback. Because it is not your fault, if seller decided to add more costs, which you didn’t have to agree.
